10 Day Course - After School Courses

The 30 Hour Classroom is the instructional portion of the Driver Education Program. Classes are held either virtually on Zoom, or as an in-person class at one of our school locations.

Classes are held for 3 or 6 hours per class, and operate in 5 or 10 day sessions. A class average of 80% must be obtained through class work, quizzes and a final exam to pass this course. Students must have passed the course to proceed to the behind the wheel portion of instruction

The 30 hour class will also provide students with an eye exam conducted by a NC DMV Examiner on the SBTS-800 form which your student will receive prior to class starting. Both a passing score and this form are needed to schedule the Behind the Wheel (BTW) lessons.  The behind the wheel instruction will consist of 6 hours behind the wheel lessons with one of our instructors. To successfully complete the behind the wheel, the student must be proficient in basic handling of the motor vehicle.  Upon the completion of the Classroom and BTW Lessons, students will be issued a Driver Education Certificate showing completion of the course and a parent checklist for the next steps to prepare for the NC DMV.

Traditional Classroom Details

The traditional classroom will be held at one of our School Locations. During the school year, the student must complete the instruction at the school in which they are registered full time.  The class will take place on campus after school from 330pm - 630pm.

Students should come to class prepared with all materials for class. Students will need to have a pen/pencil, a notebook and your cellphone or school laptop to complete the course. Students will be encouraged to take notes which will help with their final exam. The cellphone or school laptop will be used to utilize Kahoot.com, which is the platform we use for quizzes and tests, so make sure they are properly charged for the class.

Virtual Classroom Details

Virtual classes are held over zoom. To participate virtually you must have a camera, a speaker and internet that can handle a zoom meeting.

Download the Free Zoom  application to ensure you have all of the equipment needed prior to starting class. Virtual meetings must be face to face which means a camera must be on and operational at all times except break periods.  Please locate a place with least distractions.   The instructor will provide basic training on the use of Zoom.
